La Famiglia DeVito e’ una famiglia tipica di ristoratori Italiani. Nella loro trattoria e penzione hanno ricreato un ambiente casareccio e gastronomico con cucina stagionale e classica Italiana.

Italian brothers chef Antonio and Wine expert Giancarlo DeVito, along with American pastry chef Patricia Hammer, met in the Boston restaurant scene during the 1980’s.  In the Boston area they became involved with quite a few interesting restaurant concepts. In 1985 the trio moved to Stowe Vermont to launch their Tuscan trattoria, leaving behind the stress and traffic of the city for a pastoral and more peaceful environment.

The cuisine and wine list of the trattoria has always reflected each region in Italy without favoritism. Each region has its unique cuisine and wines, making Italian cuisine quite diverse from north to south and from season to season – which are represented in our menus.  Our menu and wine list changes seasonally, keeping our guests interested. Our efforts in doing so have earned us major awards from nationally recognized magazines,  such as Gourmet Magazine, Wine Spectator Magazine, Yankee Magazine, Ski Magazine, as well as honorary mentions in Veronelli Italia and Lonely Planet travel guides.

The restaurant is located in an old Vermont farmhouse built circa 1819. This building has a lot of history and architectural features of the time, quite similar to the Tuscan farmhouses of Italy. One third of the building is used by the restaurant, with the remainder having been converted to an Italian B&B. The rooms are simple, cozy, and affordable. Our guests love the idea of dining in the restaurant and remaining for breakfast. We are adjacent to TopNotch Resort and Spa, with whom we have a wonderful working relationship. We can provide our guests with access to spa, exercise room, swimming pool, tennis courts (inside and outdoors), and horseback riding for the same rate as a TopNotch guest.
